David Witt to take on the Volvo Ocean Race

As the 18 Footers JJ Giltinan comes to an end for David Witt, it is on to bigger things for the skipper of Appliancesonline.com.au. As the rumours are swirling about the end of Ragamuffin, Witt told the Australian 18 Footers League of his next adventure around the world, the Volvo Ocean Race.

When Mark Heeley asked what is next now that Ragamuffin is done, Witt said “Probably Volvo I think next year, so try and stay employed of some sort this year and then get around the planet next year.”

He explained that he has signed a contract with a team from Hong Kong, “I signed a contract as skipper of a Hong Kong team so hopefully that all comes to fruition.”

But he will be back to contest for the JJ Giltinan Trophy next year. For the full interview head to the International 18ft Skiff Facebook page.

While Ragamuffin 90 is currently competing in Asia, the boat is listed for sale on the Team Ragamuffin website.
