2023 ILCA 6 Masters World Championships – Day 3

Pattaya, Thailand – Two more races were completed today at the 2023 ILCA 6 Masters World Championships, hosted by the Royal Varuna Yacht Club, which marks the halfway point of the event.

In the Apprentice division, Lithuania’s Tokyo Olympian Viktorija Andrulyte continues to lead the fleet after today’s races. In the Masters fleet, Great Britain’s Jon Emmett added two more firsts to his picket fence and carries only five net points into the final days of the championship. Consistency was key today for Canadian Allan Clark, who finished second in both races and slid into first overall in the Grand Masters division. Australia’s Stephen Gunther is leading the Great Grand Masters by three points from fellow Aussie Jeff Loosemore (with Aussie sailors filling 7 out the top 10 spots), and American Bill Symes had another stellar day with two first-place finishes in the Legends fleet.

Tomorrow will be a reserve day for the sailors to rest up before racing resumes on Tuesday, February 14 with two races scheduled.
