After 3 days of extremely close racing 2782 Fire Power (Harrison & Ryder) exerted their dominance with 2 wins to be crowned the 55th Manly Junior National Champions. For Harrison it is back to back national championships, but for Ryder the win was extra special following in his dad’s footsteps who won as crew all the way back in ‘89.
Brother Levi & Noah in 2780 Five Star took 2nd overall with Harrison’s younger brother Baiden and Luca (Ryder’s older brother) in 2771 Red Hand taking 3rd place overall.
Handicap in open fleet was won by the brothers Michael & Frederick in 2729 Never Say Never, who showed significant progression over the 8 races.
Lani & Saskia in 2775 Cover Girls won the all girls trophy pushing the boys hard to finish a close 4th overall.
In the Novice fleet, 2779 Stingray (Rose & Tommy) came away with the win (which is a handicap division). The progress of the entire novice fleet was amazing over the three days with majority of the novice fleet finding themselves mixing it with some of the open fleet having caught up the 5minute start delay.
It was a big few days, but all the kids had so much fun hanging out and mucking around on the water in between races.
Thanks to our generous sponsors and all our volunteers who make this event possible.
