SailGP Sydney Grand Prix spectator experiences on sale

22 November 2018 SYDNEY– Tickets for the inaugural SailGP Sydney Grand Prix go on sale today, with Australian sports and lifestyle lovers able to secure their spot on spectacular Sydney Harbour for the thrilling racing event on 15-16 February 2019.

The global championship’s curtain raiser will see Olympic hero Tom Slingsby lead Australia’s crew, competing against national teams from China, France, Great Britain, Japan and the United States for a coveted $1 million prize.

Australian fans will be the first in the world to witness the fastest, most technologically advanced catamarans ripping through Sydney Harbour at breathtaking speeds of up to 100 kilometres per hour. Races will then take place in San Francisco, New York City, Cowes (UK) and Marseille (France), where the champion will be crowned.

A range of catered packages and tickets are available with on-water options on chartered yachts and catamarans, as well as the official viewing area at the heart of the action on Shark Island.

Early bird tickets are on sale until 9 January 2019 at SailGP.com/Sydney.

Official Spectator Boats with Captain Cook Cruises

In partnership with Captain Cook Cruises, Sydney Grand Prix Official Spectator Boats will offer memorable on-water experiences for adults and families, with the boats located in a preferred viewing position on the race area perimeter.Fans can get a front row seat to the inaugural race aboard the premium vessels:

Club Passes: From $170

Club Passes, which include foodand premium beverages, are available onboard the 206ft Sydney 2000. Private viewing rooms are also available on Sydney 2000, for fans wishing to host a private group.

Fan Passes: From $64

Fan Passes are available aboard the Nancy Wake and Maggie Cat Official Spectator Boats, with drinks available for purchase and an option for guests to bring their own food. All vessels will broadcast live TV coverage of the race.

Private Charter: Custom packages available on request

The 90-foot superyacht AUSPRO (45 guests) and 65-foot catamaran Sydney Crystal (60 guests) – with luxury bars, lounges and viewing decks – will be available as the exclusive SailGP Sydney Official Spectator Boat private charters for private or corporate parties. The private charters will enjoy a preferred viewing position on the race perimeter.

Official Viewing Station on Shark Island: From $212

Located in the heart of the action, the Official Viewing Area at Shark Island will offer the ultimate SailGP experience, providing fans with one of the best views of the exhilarating race on a unique island setting in the middle of Sydney Harbour.

Access to an open bar, gourmet food hamper and shore-to-shore transfers will be included with all tickets.

The venue will feature large screens for spectators to enjoy live coverage and commentary of the race.

FREE SPECTATOR OPTIONS

Boater Registration

Boat owners can soak up the electric atmosphere and action of the Sydney Grand Prix from the comfort of their own vessel.

Boaters can register their vessel for free at SailGP.com/Sydney, and will receive a commemorative SailGP boat flag and have the chance to win a VIP behind-the-scenes tour of the Australia SailGP Team’s base on Cockatoo Island.


Team Bases – Free Tours & Public Viewing Area

Cockatoo Island will host all six national teams competing at the SailGP Sydney Grand Prix, as the Official Venue for the Team Bases.

Fans will have the opportunity to hear expert commentary about the teams’ operations and preparations, with FREE guided tours of the Team Base on selected dates from 1 February.

A free public viewing area will give fans the chance to see the teams' preparations and the supercharged F50 catamarans as they’re launched into Sydney Harbour.

Those lucky enough to secure one of the limited FREE tickets available on 15-16 February will get to see all the action of the team bases unfold on race days.
