Does anyone know how this yacht sank in Sydney Harbour?

Regular Mysailing reader, Geoff Cramp sent in these photos of a cruising yacht which has sunk in Hen and Chicken Bay near Abbotsford in Sydney’s inner west.

Geoff says the boat has been sitting on a rock shelf for some time and has leaned over at low tide for a few months.

“The keel bolts may have loosened or cracked over time.  At high tide she is almost fully submerged,” Geoff says.

As the tide comes in, the boat becomes almost fully submerged. Photo Geoff Cramp.

If anyone knows more about how she came to sink, who owns her and what the plans are for salvage, please let us know by emailing editor@mysailing.com.au.
