Waterhouse and Darmanin up to second at the Nacra 17 Worlds

Jason Waterhouse and  Lisa Darmanin have moved into 2nd at ‪the Nacra 17 Worlds‬ on the first day of gold fleet racing after scoring 6,3,8 for the day. They are just four points behind the class pace-setters Billy Besson and Marie Riou (FRA).

It was a long waiting day with the fleet going out in the morning but being sent back in after too much wind and with gusts rising to up to 38 knots and heavy rain during the day. Racing finally got underway at 7pm with three races being completed.

“Consistency paid off today and we are happy to move up to second leading into the last day of fleet racing. I'll have to put in my overtime for getting off the water at 10 pm though,” Lisa Darmanin laughed.

Darren Bundock and Nina Curtis sit in 16th (12, 29, 17), while Euan McNicol and Lucinday Whitty dropped into 20th (22,34DNF, 12). Silver fleet racing was cancelled.

There are two more race days to go with Gold Fleet racing scheduled for Thursday afternoon local time.
