The Race Management Committee of the Royal Geelong Yacht Club has issued the Notice of Race for the Festival of Sails Regatta presented by Rex Gorell Land Rover which will be staged over five days across the Australia Day long weekend.
The racing series will kick off on Friday January 22nd with the Sports Boats, followed by the Passage Race on the Saturday and the remainder of the series racing held across Sunday, Monday and Tuesday morning. The regatta draws to a close on the afternoon of Australia Day, Tuesday January 26th.
2016 Festival of Sails Chairman Chris Williams has praised the efforts of the Race Management Committee.
“By getting our notice of race out early we’re giving sailors every opportunity to plan their crews and schedule the regatta into their calendars,” Chris Williams says.
The NoR outlines the schedule for the Festival of Sails, which for 2016 will incorporate the VX One Sports Boats Nationals and the Morris Finance Sydney 38 National Championships.
The Victorian Government is a proud supporter of the 2016 Festival of Sails, which is the largest annual keel boat regatta in the Southern Hemisphere.
