Hanse Yachts have released its latest model, the Hanse 455.
Designed by Judel/Vrolijk & Co this yacht has 10% more sail area than the previous model.
The builder claims that the cockpit is the largest in the class. All halyards, sheets, trimming and reefing lines are completely covered by the deck to the aft helm positions. This feature combined with the Hanse self-tacking headsail allows easy single or short-handed sailing. The twin helm positions have instrument pods and dedicated fixed seating with storage underneath.
The Hanse 455 has a total length of 13.95m, a waterline length of 12.20m and a width of 4.38m. The standard keel is a T-bulb at 2.25m and a shallow L-shaped 1.82m keel is available. A Volvo Penta D2-55 with 39kW and saildrive is standard.
The standard interior is the three-cabin version, with a four-cabin option available. A U-shaped sofa on the starboard side and a comfortable bench on the port side is offered as standard, with the option of replacing the bench with a coffee table and two swivelling chairs. A large hull window offers sea views from the lounge and 20 opening hatches and portholes ensure the interior is exceptionally light and airy.
The first boat is due to be completed in July 2014.
