Wichard Pacific, Sydney based distributor of the French deck hardware company Wichard, Profurl furling systems and the TYE TEC loop range, has taken on board the distribution of Facnor and Navtec.
Facnor was previously distributed by Strong Ropes and was part of the French group Losange until the Wichard Group bought the company in 2012.
The initial focus will be on building a greater level of parts stock which will enable riggers and sail makers to maintain and repair all Facnor furling systems. Many imported yachts in Australia are originally equipped with Facnor systems so the aim is to make the task of maintaining those systems easier to trade customers and end users.
Some of the products offered by Facnor, the Flat deck furler range, the mainsail furlers and some of the larger custom made products will also be promoted in Australia.
Navtec, distributed for over 20 years by Barlow Distributors, complements the existing Wichard and Profurl lines and the intention is to create a synergy between the companies similar to that combination.
