Extreme Sailing Series competition winner announced

Hundreds of entries were received for the chance to win a Guest Sailor spot on an Extreme 40 when the ESS comes to Sydney later this week. The lucky winner was Allan Schepers who nominated is son Aaron to receive our mysailing newsletter and therefore have a chance to win.

Allan recently retired after 40 years as a Queensland policeman. “I promptly fulfilled a life-long dream of getting back to sailing, which I had enjoyed as a teen but not had time for in a busy policing career,” Allan told us when we informed him he was the winner. “I bought a Hobie Tandem Island (TI) which is a rippingly fast little day-sailer. I have been teaching our adult children and our grandchildren how to sail on her this past year with many voyages of exploration already under our belt on the dams of South East Qld and Moreton Bay.”

Alan and Aaron are excited about the chance to sail on an Extreme 40 and are making the trip to Sydney specially to do so. They will race on Friday, which promises to be a big wind day, with a yet-to-be confirmed skipper.
