A voyage on Young Endeavour is an adventure of a lifetime and an opportunity develop teamwork and leadership skills from a world-wide recognised program; recently awarded Sailing Training Program of the Year.
During an 11 day voyage, youth crew are trained by staff from the Royal Australian Navy. They climb the 30m mast, set sails, navigate, keep watch and take the helm. They also take command of the ship for 24 hours.
“The Young Endeavour will change your life. It's only a few days but what you take away is for a life time,” said Roslyn Irwin; who recently sailed from Brisbane to Bundaberg.
“This was one of the biggest challenges I've ever faced or been lucky enough to participate in. It was very rewarding and I've learnt a lot about myself and others,” said Alex Stebder, who sailed this year from Sydney to Georgetown, Tasmania.
2010 Voyage program: from January – July the Young Endeavour departs from the following locations: Sydney, Newcastle, Williamstown, Hobart, Brisbane, Bundaberg and Mackay.
