Blustery mistral postpones racing at Swan Cup

Italy: No racing could take place today at the Rolex Swan Cup in Porto Cervo due to a very strong mistral wind blowing at more than 35 knots, with gusts of well over 40 knots, conditions that obviously do not allow for safe racing.

The Race Committee had continuously monitored the situation. They were ready to position starting lines in case the wind dropped, as was indicated by some forecast models. After postponing the first Warning Signal, at pm, the definitive abandonment of racing for the day was communicated to all participants.

Racing will resume tomorrow, Sunday local time, the final day of the Swan Cup, with light to medium winds forecast. The start signal has been moved forward one hour to 11am.

This evening from 8.30pm, the traditional dinner party, open to all participants, will take place at the Hotel Colonna Pevero.
