Freestyle World Champions Crowned in Qatar

The culminating day of the Visit Qatar GKA Freestyle Kite World Cup Qatar reached its grand finale at the stunning Fuwairit Kite Beach Resort, where the 2023 Freestyle World Champions were crowned.

Following a remarkable year, Brazilians Bruna Kajiya and Carlos Mario became the 2023 Qatar Airways GKA Freestyle Kite World Champions after showcasing their talents and sheer determination. Having been world champions in former years, the winners demonstrated their hunger to claim back their crowns. Their unwavering dedication and outstanding performances throughout the season highlighted a level of skill that was truly unstoppable.

Joint first place for the women’s division

After a five-day event at Fuwairit Kite Beach, race director Rui Meira closed the competition due to light wind conditions. Although women’s heats took place on day one, the final heat was not concluded. The top four women, Mikaili Sol (BRA), Bruna Kajiya, Nathalie Lambrecht (SWE), and Therese Taabbel (DEN), shared joint first place. The men’s heats were on hold, and the rankings remained unchanged.
