X-Yachts is thrilled to announce a new partnership with renowned yachtsman Jesper Radich for their XR 41 racing program.
Kevin Wallis, Managing Director of X-Yachts Australia & New Zealand, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are very excited to team up with Jesper. Since the inception of the XR project, we have worked closely with some of the industry’s top minds. It’s a natural progression to continue this path in both development and competitive racing.”
For the 2025 racing season, X-Yachts will field their own dedicated team, providing valuable experience in racing the XR 41 and offering young talent a gateway into competitive offshore sailing.
Jesper Radich will lead the team as skipper, bringing a unique approach to team development and performance. “This project aligns closely with my approach to sailing team dynamics,” Radich explains. “We’ll focus on team development, incremental progress, and mindset, emphasizing technical improvement and crew skills to achieve our goals.”
The team will comprise a blend of experienced professionals and emerging Danish talents, fostering an environment where young sailors can evolve alongside seasoned professionals. “I’ll ensure comprehensive team development and optimal race performance,” Radich adds. “Success in yacht racing requires a concerted team effort, and we’re seeking individuals with a mix of strength, precision, courage, and analytical thinking.”
The team’s ambitious racing schedule includes prestigious events such as the Mai Offshore Regatta (Maior), Kieler Woche, Gotland Runt, and the ORC World Championship in Tallinn. Plans to participate in Fyn Rundt with a diverse crew from X-Yachts ensure an inclusive racing calendar.
The new XR 41 will have its world premier at the 2025 BOOT Boat Show, but Wallis advised that already eight have been sold to existing X-Yachts owners.
