Today is the first official day of the 2024 ORC World Championship and North American Maxi Championship hosted by New York Yacht Club here in Newport.
46 participating teams are using today and tomorrow to pass inspections and to prepare for the week of in-shore and offshore racing that lies ahead.
This is a historic World Championship event: the last one was held here in the US 24 years ago.
