📍 23–25 February 2025

Three races down, and the International 5.5m Australian Championship is delivering plenty of action on Pittwater! With tight racing, shifting conditions, and a few breakages keeping the shore crews busy, the battle for the title is heating up.

🔝 Current Standings (After 3 Races):

🥇 Alpha Crucis (AUS61) – Martin Cross (RPAYC) leads with a consistent 3-2-2 scoreline, showing that steady sailing wins championships.

🥈 Skagerak (AUS32) – Bob Stoddard (RPAYC) stormed to victory in Race 3, putting him in a tie on points with…

🥈 Rhapsody (AUS35) – Chris Hancock (RPAYC), also on 9 points, keeping the pressure on the leaders.

🔥 Ku-Ring-Gai (AUS62) – John Bacon (RPAYC) started with two bullets but broke a backstay in Race 3, forcing him to retire. Thanks to Phil Smidmore’s quick work, she’ll be back for Race 4 tomorrow, ready to fight for the podium.

⛵ Black Magic (AUS64) – Mark Tolhurst (RPAYC) suffered a forestay failure in Race 2 and had to retire but will also be back on the water tomorrow after repairs also thanks to Phil.

💪 Baragoola (AUS26), Sic Em Rex II (AUS55), and Black Magic are all putting in solid performances in a tough fleet, with every position fiercely contested.

With more racing ahead, anything can happen. Stay tuned as the 5.5m fleet gears up for another day of high-intensity sailing on Pittwater!
