Ellen Sampson from South Australia, the sole Australian representative at this event had a great first day, with a first in the 2nd race.
The first day of racing at the ILCA 6 Youth European Championship kicked off today under fantastic conditions, with all fleets completing two races. The day began with a stable southwest breeze of around 10 knots, which steadily increased as the day went on, reaching an average of 15 knots by the last race, with gusts up to 18 knots.
The sea state was moderate, with waves reaching up to 1.0 meters, and the sun shone brightly throughout the day, providing ideal conditions for exciting racing.
The sailors were treated to a day full of action on the water, with the competition heating up as the wind strengthened, pushing the young competitors to perform at their best.
Looking ahead, tomorrow’s schedule includes:
- 09:00: Coaches Meeting
- 09:30: Bibs Ceremony for the Boys
- 09:45: Bibs Ceremony for the Girls
- 11:00: First Possible Warning Signal
- Pasta Party after the races
