A 2nd EDITION IN 2018
Although, initially, the 2nd edition of the Rallye des Iles du Soleil was announced for 2019, Grand Pavois Organisation (GPO), with the support of its partners, the Guadeloupe Region, the Tourism Committee of the Islands of Guadeloupe, the Grouping of Local Authorities of Marie-Galante, Ciotabus, the Municipality of La Ciotat and the Department of Charente-Maritime, are offering sailors who may be interested the opportunity to set sail in November 2018.
GPO and all its partners are very happy to announce officially the organisation of this second edition in November 2018!
The scheduled date of departure will be Saturday 24 November 2018 from the Canaries. A later date than that of the Rallye des Iles du Soleil 2017 (Saturday 18 November) owing to the arrival of the Route du Rhum in Pointe-à-Pitre which should continue through to the end of November, start of December.
What is the Rallye des Iles du Soleil? It is a rally open to sailors following a route between Lanzarote (Canaries) and Marie-Galante (Islands of Guadeloupe). A secure and supervised Atlantic crossing open to monohulls and multihulls from 35 to 65 feet, covering 2,800 miles from the Canary Islands to the Islands of Guadeloupe, and more specifically Marie-Galante.
