Sir Ben Ainslie wants AC75 retained for at least 10 years

Duncan Johnston writes on the Stuff website that the radical foiling boats used in AC36 will already be retained for the next two Matches, but Ainslie wants more:

British yachting star Sir Ben Ainslie wants the current America’s Cup class of boat retained for at least the next 10 years,

Ainslie’s Team UK have taken on the major assignment of being challenger of record, working on the future of the Cup alongside defender Team New Zealand.

They have already signalled that the radical foiling monohulls that make up the AC75 class will be used for the next two versions of at the sport’s pinnacle event. But Ainslie has made a plea for even more continuity on the back of their successful debut at Auckland 2021.
