Australian Made JPK 11.80 Launched in Melbourne

The new JPK 11.80 for owners Denis and Chris McConnell was transported from Nowra and launched at Sandringham YC in early July. Designed by French naval architect Jacques Valer and proudly “Made in Australia” by JPK Pacific and Innovation Composites.

The JPK 11.80 is offered with either tiller or twin wheel options with Denis selecting the twin wheel featuring twin rudders and 9/10 Axxon carbon rig.

It is designed with a perfect balance between performance and comfort, this yacht caters to a wide range of sailing enthusiasts. It is a true marvel in terms of versatility as it showcases its cruising attractiveness. Its sleek and modern design, combined with advanced technology and top-notch craftsmanship, make it a standout choice in the yachting world.

The u-shaped saloon allows a spacious 3m x 3m area functional for racing, cruising or entertaining. The galley features a fridge and oven, extras not usually associated with a high-performance cruiser / racer.

Additionally, as Denis said “Having the opportunity to visit the Innovation Composites production facility in Nowra and speak with JPK Pacific and our Race Yachts Broker, Jason Rowed, on all the technical aspects of the new build was certainly a big plus in my decision on an Australian made JPK 11.80. Their lead time was another key factor. The benefits of “Made in Australia” with access to the production process and the workmanship of Innovation Composites are significant. These benefits along with the JPK 11.80 being affordable, versatile, reliable and with a proven record of success in competitive sailing in Europe.
Denis and Chris have named their new JPK 11.80 “Schuss” which will offer formidable competition on the Melbourne racing circuits.

Denis has opted to add an Ubi Maior furling forestay for additional ease and a North Sail’s inventory.

This new JPK 11.80 is a versatile choice as a proven performer in either crewed or 2H sailing. The shorthanded option adds to its family cruising options.

JPK Pacific have the exclusive license to manufacture and market across the Asia / Pacific region. The “Made in Australia” decision delivers close contact for owners with a high level of boat building expertise.
The JPK 11.80 is a game-changer in the world of race yachts. The proven race-winning pedigree make it a standout choice for sailors seeking a performance cruiser that delivers on all fronts. Poised to capture the hearts of sailing enthusiasts across Asia-Pacific, order books are expected to fill up rapidly just like it’s French factory which currently has a 24 month waitlist.

The JPK 11.80 is affordable offered ex-factory for $635k plus gst which includes B&G electronics, Axxon carbon rigging, Harken deck fit out and a Volvo 30hp engine.

So, whether you’re an avid racer or a cruising aficionado, the JPK 11.80 is the yacht that promises an exhilarating and rewarding experience on the water.
