National Cherub Championships at Wangi

Editors note: If you would like to promote your class / club events on our MySailing site, then please feel free to send us a short editorial like this one for the Cherubs and we will put up a post for you. Please send to editor@mysailing.com.au

150 days to go before the 58th Australian National Cherub Championships this summer. A reminder that this event will be held at Wangi Amateur RSL Sailing Club, NSW, from December 27th, 2022, until January 4th 2023.

Organisation is well underway, and as we dust off perpetual trophies for the first time since 2019/2020, we would love to hear from you about whether you intend to travel to this event. This would aid us in ordering determining our catering and shirt size requirements. You can register now via Trybooking.

Please note Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions for this event can be viewed on our website, socials, or the link below. Please check them out so you can see what’s in store this December.

  • LOGISTICS AND PLANNING –
    Finding Accomodation in Wangi Wangi

If anyone needs assistance with finding accommodation, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us. We released a list of potential vendors in Wangi early this year that can be found on our website (The Cherubs are off to Wangi Wangi, NSW for Nationals 2022/23! – Cherubs Australia).

For those looking for lodging close to the sailing club and local watering hole, there are still rooms at a reasonable rate available at Hotel Wangi. For more information call (02) 4975 1411 and speak to someone at the bar.

Need a Skipper/Crew?

It has come to our attention that quite a few individuals may be in search of a skipper, crew, or boat to attend these National Championships. If this affects you, please fill out the form below and we will be in touch. We would love to see as many sailors on the water as possible and may know someone willing to lend a hand!

Interested in Loaning a Cherub to Someone in Need?

If you are not planning on attending this year’s nationals, but you’d like to see your boat hit the water, would you consider chartering your Cherub to another sailor? If so, please let us know at nsw.secretary@gmail.com or by using the form above.

With the current shipping landscape proving difficult for our fleet members in New Zealand, some of our friends may be looking to explore other options to get to Wangi Wangi. We’d love to be able to put you all in touch.
