Australian Wooden Boat Festival Entries Open for 2021

Expressions of Interest for Boats Afloat and Boats Ashore programs will open online on Friday 15 May 2020 at 9am AEST.

Registrations will be accepted via the Australian Wooden Boat Festival website and will welcome local and interstate applications.

Despite what Australia and the world has been through over the past three months, festival organisers hope the spectre of Covid-19 will be in the past and that the Festival will be as busy and bustling as it always has been. But to avoid complacency, remaining patient and methodical as restrictions slowly lift, means “we must continue to err on the side of caution”, says General Manager Paul Stephanus.

“The Festival team is simultaneously planning for a re-imagined Festival that adheres to ongoing restrictions and safety measures, while still remaining true to the Festival's spirit,” says Stephanus. “With any luck, we'll be in a much better place and won't need to activate this response. But no matter what form the event takes, it will be a joyous occasion where we can come together to share stories, learn new skills, revel in wooden boats and celebrate our maritime heritage.”
