Clipper Ventures Australia is on the hunt for Australians looking to push their limits and take on the challenge of a lifetime, the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.
Australians have an impressive history in the world's longest ocean race with Australian teams winning two of nine editions of the 40,000 mile ocean odyssey, the only event of its kind for amateur sailors.
A series of recruitment talks are being held across the country and in New Zealand in January, February and March of 2015.
Clipper Ventures Australia's Managing Director Kirsty Whyte, a winning crew member in the Clipper 09-10 Race on board Spirit of Australia, said: “I am looking for Australians with a zest for life and a hunger for adventure and challenge.
“No sailing experience is needed as we will provide three of the four compulsory levels of training from our Sydney base. We will make it happen for you.
“More and more people are looking for something different to test themselves these days and our event is one of the toughest endurance challenges on the planet. I am excited to meet the next generation of ocean racers.”
Kirsty will be visiting Newcastle, Canberra, Cairns, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Auckland and Wellington as part of her recruitment tour for the 2015/16 and 2017/18 editions. If you would like the talk to be held at your yacht club, business or company, please contact Kirsty.
You can sign up for one or more legs or the full round the world race which takes 11 months to complete.
67 Australians from across the country took part in the Clipper 2013-14 Race and the race visited four Australian cities as part of Leg 4.
The fleet will return to Australia next year in the 2015-16 edition, including to take part in the famous Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.
If you would like more information about the race and how to sign up, please contact Kirsty on Australia@clipper-ventures.com or +61 2 9363 2020.
