Syndicated ownership of Beneteau yachts in the Mediterranean
Australian based Yacht Share Mediterranean and Vicsail Beneteau from Rushcutters Bay Sydney have combined to offer the syndicated ownership of Beneteau yachts in the Mediterranean.
Yacht Share Mediterranean is a sister company to Mariner Boating Holidays, which has a long history in the Australian / Overseas sailing holiday business.
YSM Director Trevor Joyce said, “we have responded to an expressed need from some of our clients who want to cruise the Mediterranean for extended periods on their own boat”. Each of the three owners in the syndication program on offer will have use of their yacht for eight weeks in the peak season between May 1 and October 31.
The company claims that the value proposition for this model shows ownership to be less expensive than charter, even after discounting an extended charter rate and allowing for annual depreciation of the value of the yacht and the management expenses.
The Australian location of the syndicate manager means each unit owner has ready access to a local single point of contact with regard to the care and maintenance of their yacht.
The first yacht on offer is the Beneteau Oceanis 48 to be delivered new for the 2015 Mediterranean season. The yacht has an extensive specification and is equipped with all the needs of extended cruising. The yacht offers a combination between sailing performance and seaworthiness combined with living space above and below decks and quality of finish in a boat which is easily sailed by two people.
The back-up offered by Vicsail Sydney in support of Beneteau yachts in the Med adds further security to the ownership equation offered by Yacht Share Mediterranean.
