Cancer Council launches 09/10 sun protection merchandise range

With the return of summer, Cancer Council Australia is again urging outdoor-loving Aussies to SLIP, SLOP, SLAP, SEEK and SLIDE.

To celebrate the 09/10 season, Cancer Council has launched a range of new products designed to provide the best possible protection from the harsh Australian sun. There are stylish new sunglasses (including adult frames and the new Cancer Council Kids and Cancer Council Baby ranges), clothes and hats, as well as high quality sunscreens and cosmetics.

“Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, with more than 430,000 new cases each year,” says Cancer Council Australia CEO, Professor Ian Olver. “With our active outdoor lifestyles, we must all be vigilant in protecting ourselves from the sun.”

Slip into Cancer Council's protective clothing for one of the best barriers between skin and the sun. With a range of sunsuits, shirts, jackets, swim shorts and beachwear for children from six months through to adults, this protective clothing offers an ultraviolet protection factor of UPF50+, the highest available rating in Australia.

Complementing the clothing range is Cancer Council's famous high quality sunscreens in a range of SPF 30+ formulas designed to suit every lifestyle and purpose. The Everyday or Ultra formulas ares perfect for sailing, the Insect Repellent formula for camping and fishing trips; or the new Mineral sunscreen for those with sensitive skin.

And of course the youngsters aren't forgotten with the Cancer Council's Toddler range, specially formulated for delicate skin. Sunscreens come in a variety of sizes from handy purse and roll on packs, to Ezi-Clips (Sport and Insect) and family-size pump packs.

Slide on a pair of stylish Cancer Council sunglasses, offering the highest level of eye protection with optimum viewing clarity. This year's adult range has been designed by the team behind brands such as Oroton and Morrissey, so there will be something for every taste. All royalties received from the sale of Cancer Council's sun protection merchandise help fund cancer research, education, information and patient support services.
