The passing of Jim ‘Ace’ Mowtell, long-time Australian 18 Footers League member and director of the Australian 18 Footers League since 1993, will be celebrated at the Club at 2pm on Tuesday, 2 August.
‘Ace’ was a true character in our sport and, as ‘Ace Marine Photography’, took many thousands of photos of yachting and 18ft skiff events on Sydney Harbour, as well as wonderful images of Sydney Hobarts which were published in many sailing magazines during the 70s and 80s.
