Entries are now open for the 2015 Auto Advantage Newcastle to Port Stephens Race which will be held on 12th April.
Now a ‘usual suspect’ on the NSW keel boat racing calendar the Newcastle Port Stephens race is preceded by RPAYC’s Pittwater to Newcastle Race on the 11th of April and followed by Sail Port Stephens which commences with the Commodores Cup on the 13th April.
This year will see the course take a few bends and twists with NCYC’s recently installed permanent offshore yacht racing marks utilized in the course. The new marks will mix things up a bit as well as reduce the amount of time race yachts are in the Newcastle’s commercial shipping channel.
With seven entries already received, representing eight different yacht clubs an eclectic mix of yachts and sailing faces will be an attribute of the Newcastle to Port Stephens Race.
Racing will be conducted in IRC, ORCi and PHS divisions with a ‘Gun Boat’ trophy going to the line honors victor.
Further details regarding the race including a list of current entrants is available on NCYC’s website – www.ncyc.net.au
