Fifth for Otto Henry at Optimist Worlds after final races cancelled

The Optimist World Championship fizzled to an end today in Poland. As had been the case on so many days, the wind failed to co-operate.

The race committee started race 10 in a very soft Westerly but it was fading fast and the race was stop just a few minutes in. We waited patiently for a possible onshore breeze but rain on the shoreline put an end to that.

So with all races cancelled for the day the overnight scores were final. 1st Rok Verderber SLO, 2nd and 1st Female Jodie Lai SIN, 3rd Mathias Berthet NOR, 4th Dante Cittadini ARG and 5th Otto Henry AUS.

“It is a great thrill for Otto to make the top 5 but we would have liked another day of racing given his solid performance yesterday and the day before” commented his Coach, Rob Brewer.

“I'm stoked with 5th but can't wait to get back next year to do even better” said Otto. “For now I need to get back to school, then think about the NSW Youth Champs in October.
