If you want to miss the pre-Christmas madness in Australia, why not take an early holiday and enter the Fiji National Sailing Regatta from December 11 to 13.
The regatta will be sailed in Optimist, Laser, Hobie 16 and RSYC “B Class” yachts. Two Australian entries have already been received, along with four from New Caledonia. You can hire a Hobie 16 for $US500 for the duration of the regatta and billeting is available at the homes of yacht club members.
