Fountaine Pajot launches new catamaran aimed at the popular 40ft market

A brand new sailing catamaran just launched by Fountaine Pajot is set to shake up the world’s popular 40’ market according to distributors Multihull Solutions.

Replacing the successful Lipari 41 and Mahe 36, the design of the new Fountaine Pajot 40 has drawn inspiration from the shipyard’s Helia 44 and Saba 50, offering 'superb luminosity and a spacious cockpit that comfortably accommodates eight people at its dining table' the release says.

The company claims that the catamaran’s sleek lines are complemented by its stylish interior design that incorporates 'premium quality fixtures and finishes'.

They say: 'The interior is beautifully light courtesy of large panoramic portholes and excellent ventilation. There is a generous choice of exterior relaxation areas and the spacious cockpit has been designed for easy entertaining at sea.'

Additional features include opening hatches in the sides of the hulls for each cabin, flush deck hatches, an optional foredeck lounge, long settee aft of the cockpit area, a new fitted trampoline which fits right to the edges, leaving no surrounding gaps, and a separate shower and head for the luxurious owner’s suite.

Fountaine Pajot says that early sea trials have confirmed the catamaran’s 'outstanding handling, stability and comfort in even the most challenging conditions'.

Available in two versions, the new Fountaine Pajot 40 is expected to appeal to both private and commercial clients. The Maestro version comprises a spacious owner’s suite with ensuite, as well as two guest cabins that feature their own private bathrooms. The Quintet version is ideal for charter operators and families, with its four double cabins that each include private ensuites.

The Fountaine Pajot 40 is now available for order throughout the Asia Pacific and is priced from AUD$550,000. The catamaran will have its world premiere in December at the 2015 Paris Boat Show.
