France will not sail in Auckland SailGP due to an issue with their Wing

France will not be on the start line when racing gets underway in Auckland this weekend due to an issue with the team’s wingsail, SailGP has announced.

The team, which had been due to rejoin the fleet at this weekend’s event, is unable to race due to the discovery of a wingsail connector issue.

The issue was identified in the titanium wingsail connectors of the team’s new F50 and cannot be resolved in time for France to compete at this weekend’s event. As a result, France will be awarded five points for the ITM New Zealand Sail Grand Prix | Auckland.

Work is already underway to correct the issue and an updated on build timelines will follow.

It comes after France sat out Dubai’s 2025 Season starter in November while awaiting a new F50. The team received average points for that event too and currently sits 7th on the overall season leaderboard.
