Geographe Bay Race Week wrap up…

With over 500 Sailors and families competing on the waters of Geographe Bay for the last week, we’re hoping everyone who was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of this amazing event with Photos being shared worldwide during the busy week in Busselton WA.

With over 80 visiting yachts from all of WA, joined by crews from all over the world including current Olympic sailors, Americas cup champions, current State, National and International world champions all in Busselton keen to get involved in the weeks sailing.

Conditions were ideal with moderate breezes and flat water seeing the competition “blast” around the bay!

Thursday saw a windward/leeward race for divisions 1 to 4, followed by an afternoon passage race where div 5 to 7 rejoined the fleet. Strong breezes saw some incredible competition.

Friday was the final day of sailing where the 10 different divisions enjoyed strong breezes and a short course before sailors enjoyed final presentations at Geographe Bay Yacht Club with new champions being crowned.

Regatta Director Scott Olney had this to say “We just love having everyone down south for WA’s premier sailing regatta, this year we saw a big increase in participation with some new boats recently arriving into WA making their journey to Geographe Bay, time doesn’t stand still though as plans for an even bigger and better event in February 2026 is already underway, Dates are Feb 14-20 with 6 Elliott’s 7s available for Charter!”.
