Glamour conditions for Waszp European Games

Gorgeous conditions greeted sailors on day two of the 2022 Waszp European Games at Mar Menor, Spain.

The movers and shakers on the leaderboard are Nick Zeltner from Switzerland coming back from an 18th on day one to lead the fleet once the drop came in. Ross Banham from the UK consolidated and moved up to second on the leaderboard after a consistent day two.

Only seven points separate first to fifth place, which sets up an amazing final few days. Racing is so tight across this fleet of one-design foilers. The standard is extremely high at this event and the perfect lead in to the 2022 International Games.

One of the major strengths of the Waszp class is the diversity of the fleet, with great battles for all divisions. Mathilde Robertstad is leading the women’s division fresh off her second place at the SailGP Isnpire Grand Final. While good tussles in the Apprentice, Master and Super Master divisions will go down to the wire.

We can’t wait to see what the foiling paradise that Mar Menor brings over the next couple of days.
