Hall of Fame for Queensland’s first 5 Gold Anchor Platinum Marina

The 2021 Club Marine Marina Industry Association Awards were held this week at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia in Sydney, and yacht clubs and marinas from across Australia and the Asia Pacific region were recognised for their commitment to innovation, excellence and service.

Proudly Coral Sea Marina was entered into the Hall of Fame for Australian Marina of the Year at the awards dinner following their Australian Marina of the Year awards in 2017/18 and again in 2019/20. This follows shortly after the Superyacht Industry Service Provider award received by the marina at the Australian Marine Industry Awards last week.

Owner of Coral Sea Marina Resort, Paul Darrouzet, explains of the entry to the Hall of Fame, “eight years ago when I bought Abell Point Marina (now Coral Sea Marina Resort) my vision was to create the Monaco of the South Pacific. Through major investment in infrastructure and priding ourselves in outstanding service and impeccable facilities that vision has been realised. Having this recognised is a true honour.”

Since purchasing the marina in 2013, Mr Darrouzet has spent the last 8 years redeveloping the marina and investing in premium facilities and services to create a marina experience underpinned by quality and value.

As the first 5 Gold Anchor Platinum accredited marina in Queensland, Coral Sea Marina is known for provision of outstanding service and delivery of a memorable guest experience.

During her acceptance speech Coral Sea Marina’s, CEO, Kate Purdie said “Our success is only possible because of our incredible Coral Sea Marina family. We appreciate their loyalty and we are dedicated to delivering outstanding service and facilities well into the future, to ensure we remain worthy of this award.”

In addition to the Australian Marina of the Year Hall of Fame entry, the ACREW Superyacht Business Award finalists were announced today, with Coral Sea Marina in contention for the coveted Best Superyacht Marina award.

Having qualified as runner-up in 2020 for Best Australasian Superyacht Marina, the August 2021 ACREW awards announcement is much anticipated.
