Viana do Castelo, Portugal — Despite the weather constraints, the young sailors demonstrated remarkable resilience and skill, making the most of the conditions to deliver exciting performances out on the water. The final races were a testament to the dedication and talent of these young athletes, who have trained tirelessly for this moment.
The day began promptly at 10:40 with D Flags up for the Men Gold and Women Gold fleets. Competitors faced a steady breeze originating from 330º, initially clocking in at 13 knots and steadily gaining momentum to reach 17 knots by the third race, ensuring challenging yet rewarding conditions for all sailors.
Top Australian sailor at the event was Caterina Meyer, who finished 14th out of 150 girls.
