The ILCA U21 World Championship has come to a thrilling conclusion, marking the end of an intense week of competitive sailing in Viana do Castelo, Portugal.
To wrap up the event, sailors were faced with a breeze from 330º at 6 – 8 knots. These good conditions set the stage for an incredible finish.
All fleets were able to complete 2 final races, bringing the total to 12 races for the championship.
With Eve McMahon a clear winner in the ILCA6, Australia’s Evie Saunders with a good last (assisted by 2 poor races from Roos Wind) moved up to take Silver. Isaac Schotte was top Aussie in the ILCA7 with Ed Reid in 12th and Jack Eickmeyer 13th.
