Kings Cove Metung has announced that John Bertrand AM, the winning skipper of the Australian America's Cup Challenge in 1983, will make a special guest appearance at the Melbourne Boat Show on Saturday July 4.
Bertrand, ambassador for ‘Kings Cove Metung' a residential development featuring a Ted Parslow designed golf course and two proposed marinas, first visited the region over 40 years ago and remains passionate about it as a fantastic destination.
” I believe East Gippsland is comparable to the Margaret River in Western Australia, the wine and food country.
” The climate is more temperate than Melbourne, making it ideal for boating as well as wine making but especially for that waterfront living that is unique in Victoria and offers a true Riviera lifestyle.
” The region is rich in activities and is one of the undiscovered areas of Victoria. East Gippsland to me is a pretty special location,” Mr Bertrand said.
John Bertrand will be speaking about the treasures of the east from boating opportunities on the well known Gippsland Lakes – including his win in the State Etchell Championships at Metung in March – to the food and wine delicacies of many local producers.
To catch John Bertrand, be at the Melbourne Boat Show on Saturday 4 July between 12pm and 4pm and also be in the draw to win a wine and food hamper from Victoria's East.
Gippsland Lakes Lifestyle will be on exhibition at The Melbourne Boat Show 2 to 6 July 2009 at The Melbourne Exhibition Centre. For more information visit www.rivieraprop.com.au or www.melbourneboatshow.com.au
