Sydney-based sailor Lisa Blair will depart on her record breaking attempt to circumnavigate Antarctica on Sunday 22 January 2017.
Delayed by an electrical issue last weekend which saw Lisa conduct repairs and replacements as well as numerous sea trials throughout the week, final preparations and safety checks of her yacht, Climate Action Now, are complete.
“Whilst the delay was disappointing I am confident that Climate Action Now is in the best possible shape to safely deal with the conditions”, said Lisa.
“I am so excited to be ready to go”, she said.
Lisa Blair, 32, intends to become the first woman and only the third person in history to circumnavigate Antarctica. Her voyage will also attempt to break the time record held by Russian Fedor KONYUKOV set in 2008.
