Manson Anchors introduce the world's first aluminium racing anchor to the Australian anchor market: the Manson Racer.
Manson Anchors detected a gap in the Racing Yacht industry for an inexpensive anchor specifically tailored for Racing Yachts.
The Manson Racer allows significant weight saving. All racing yachts try to reduce weight where possible and now we are offering them a solution. The anchor is made from high tensile aluminium which is heat treated for maximum strength. The Manson Racer is fully welded, anodized ready for use. The black balls on each side, provide stability and reduce the bar length necessary for setting. The Racer is initially available in six sizes and ultimately in twelve different sizes, tailored to Racing Yacht length.
Prominent Auckland offshore yachtsman Josh Tucker (BooBoo) says “for us, even with a small yacht, each and every kilogram counts. With our Manson Racer we could save 60% on anchor weight and we had to buy an anchor so the cost was nothing. Really, in yacht racing little things collectively make a big difference.”
The Racer comes with an optional bag for stowage which features dual internal pockets, one for the anchor, one for the chain and rode. It is padded and easily handled with a robust double stitched handle.
The Anchors are initially available through Australia at all good leading Chandleries. The racing bags will be available from Christmas.
