Technology and satellite communications brand, Mazu, announced its integration with the Raymarine Axiom series of multifunction displays (MFDs). This partnership will allow boaters access to Mazu directly through Lighthouse apps.
When paired with Mazu’s m2500 satellite communications system, Mazu software provides yachts, out of range of cellular or WiFi connectivity, access to: seven day wind and wave forecasts; the ability to send and receive emails and SMS messages; access to live buoy data and more, utilising the Iridium satellite network.
In addition, Mazu delivers a worldwide search and rescue service available 24/7. “The Mazu m2500 hardware provides users with affordable global communications capabilities,” said product manager Craig Myers.
The company has also announced an initiative with premier yachting brand Jeanneau. Its yachts are built with the entire Mazu m2500 and Sentry installed; as well as an active five year subscription to Sentry prepaid. The owner or captain can upgrade his service to include Mazu communications as they wish, beyond the service at no additional costs.
