Meet the Australian Sailing team at Sandringham Boat Show this weekend

Australian Sailing's editor, Roger McMillan, and advertising manager, Peter Rendle, will both be at the Australian Sailing stand at Sandringham Boat Show this Saturday. If you're in Victoria and want to look at all the latest boats and gear, come down to the show and say “hi”.

Apart from the new multi-million dollar clubhouse, there will be more exhibitors, a seafood festival, 100 nautical art displays, kids entertainment, live music and live cooking demonstrations at the annual show.

This is a sail-only show, one of only a handful in the country, and visitors will be able to step straight aboard yachts displayed on the club's easy-access floating marina and adults and children can also take advantage of the free “Go Sailing” on water experiences supervised by professional instructors. This is a prime opportunity for novices and beginners to “have a go” in a non-threatening atmosphere.

You can see new yachts, keelboats or dinghies, sail cloth, insurance, winches, rigging, electronics, engines, paint, sailing gear and more, or look for a boating holiday destination and charter boats.

Seafood Festival

Cuisines representing four nations will be on offer and visitors can relax and take in the views from the SYC's new restaurant and deck. From Australia, succulent oysters from four regions served in four different styles and classic Aussie style fish and chips. Lovers of Japanese food will have a selection of sushi, sashimi and okonomiyaki. Those with a taste for Spain can enjoy such delights as seafood paella. Thai food lovers can try classics such as Tom Yum, Pad Thai and Thai fish cakes. Bart Beek, the Club Marine chef, will give cooking demonstrations.

Nautical Marine Art Show
