New cruiser catches on

LAUNCHES: Bluewater 450M

BLUEWATER CRUISING Yachts have announced the placement of an order for construction of their second Bluewater 450M.

Managing Director, David Bradburn, believes this vote of approval from his new clients confirms the company's standing as a builder of quality yachts.

'This segment of the market is highly competitive with the best names in the industry striving to appeal to a limited number of potential buyers', he said.

The Queensland couple who are Bluewater's latest clients conducted extensive research, comparing the pros and cons of six brands' five international and one local.

The couple's four specific requirements were:

* They wanted a true 'blue water' yacht
* It had to have a shallow draft
* Three separate cabins were needed, with the owner?s cabin being an aft berth
* The quality of construction and fit-out were to be of a very high standard

On delivery of their new 450M, the owners initially plan to cruise Tasmania before turning their sights to the open expanses of the Pacific. In between, they hope to put the yacht through its paces with some club racing.

New features available with the Bluewater 450M include a 1.7m shoal draft keel while still maintaining an AVS of approximately 127°, and an extended ?classic stern? for scuba gear storage.
