It is time to get excited about our upcoming round of the NSW Cherub State Championships at Abbotsford 12ft Skiff Club!
This event will be held on the 3rd and 4th of February 2023, so please get your entries in ASAP. We look forward to seeing you there.
NOTE: There has been a change of SIs such that we will be racing TWO (2) short course races on BOTH Saturday and Sunday of this event. This is to compensate for the race lost due to heavy winds at our November round of States at B16s. Notice will also be given to competitors of this change using the noticeboard at Abbotsford 12ft Skiff Club.
For those of you making the trip to race with us, please note the following details:
• Boats can be dropped to be rigged at Abbotsford 12ft Sailing Club or nearby Werrell Reserve.
• Upon arrival, please follow the advice of marshals to drop boats and trailers at Werrell Reserve and then continue to park cars on the streets. There is limited room in the park, and we would like to reserve this space for rigging wherever possible.
• Trailers and boats may be left in Werrell Reserve overnight and at competitor’s own risk. Members of the Abbotsford Cherub community will lock the gate to the park driveway.
• Please be mindful to leave plenty of time to leave the shore and reach the race area. The launch space at this club is limited and can take some patience and teamwork.
• No alcohol is to be consumed in the reserve as this does not meet the terms of the club’s license. Please note, however, that alcohol can be bought at the club’s bar and consumed on their newly renovated balcony.
• Abbotsford has kindly offered to put on a few post-race snacks at the club available to sailors for a gold coin donation.
• On Sunday morning, there will be a BBQ with egg and bacon rolls for sale at the clubhouse. Get down for breakfast and support our local community (whilst curing any damage done on Saturday night)!
We look forward to seeing you on the water!
