Ocean Safety has developed a new container for its Ocean ISO Liferaft, reducing weight and making the raft easier to handle, a critical factor when launching it over the side of a vessel. The Ocean ISO is one of the most popular liferafts on the market and the latest design evolution of the container is developed from years of customer feedback, industry expertise and research.
This new Ocean ISO container will have its debut at the METSTRADE 2019 show.
The new container is designed to withstand the most demanding environments experienced at sea, and, for when the worst happens, the addition of built-in handles and a reduction in weight allow for quick and easy deployment, whist the removal of the rubber gasket featured in the original version has further reduced weight.
The new aesthetic design features smooth and unassuming lines. Having the same footprint as its predecessor but with a lower profile, it will also fit any existing Ocean ISO stowage, saving the headache of fitting a new place to stow your liferaft.
Designed and tested in the UK to the ISO 9650 standard and utilising lightweight textiles, the Ocean ISO features a knee scoop and boarding ladder for easy boarding, plus a host of other survival features that include, SOLAS approved lighting system, rain water collection and the option of three survival equipment packs.
The Ocean ISO liferaft is also available with the Valise option as well as in the carbon Ultralite version, the lightest available liferaft on the market, for fast vessels looking to save even more weight.
