Otto Henry up to fifth with one day to sail at Optimist Worlds

It is still proving almost impossible to provide coverage of the Optimist Worlds in Poland. Yesterday's media report appears on the event website in Polish only, and that's not a language we speak here at Mysailing.

However, we have received an email from coach Rob Brewer who had this to say after Otto Henry recorded placings of 2nd and 13th in the first two finals races, to move up from 10th overall and to be just four points out of thirs place:

Today was a fantastic day for Otto and he now sits in 5th overall. I am so proud of the way he has sailed this event. He has shown great speed, sound tactics and strategies, and has managed to stay clear of penalties.

The race course here has been very challenging so we have been trying to keep it really simple. Good start, first shift, hold your lane and keep your eyes out of the boat.

The starts and first beats haven't always gone according to plan but Otto has shown great tenacity and staged some great recoveries.

Tomorrow we head into the final day and with a single drop in the event it is still wide open. The forecast is for more light winds that will again challenge both the organisers, sailors and coaches.

Results here.
