While we mere mortals shivver through an Australian winter, Thursday 18th June saw more than 600 superyacht industry professionals, captains and senior crew from all over Europe join Yachting Pages at Antibes' Quai des Milliardaires for the 2009 Yachting Pages Black and White Lounge.
The ‘Millionaires Quay' was also hosting some of the world's most impressive superyachts and was described as the perfect venue to launch the 2009/10 Yachting Pages, limited edition luxury box sets and to celebrate Yachting Pages recent winning of the Queen's Award.
Guests were transported in black Mercedes to the venue which featured the largest seamless marquee in France. The stunning white marquee was complemented with flower arrangements by Creatif, the superyacht florists from Antibes.
Guests guzzled over 150 magnums of champagne throughout the evening at the pink and white champagne bar, in which the host wore a Marie Antoinette-inspired pink costume matching the champagne A. Chauvet – Cuvée Grand Rosé magnums. There was also a vodka bar serving cocktails until the early hours.
Entertainment under the marquee included stilt walkers, magicians and a caricaturist . Just after midnight, a comedy duo entertained the crowd before a saxophonist and DJ carried the party into the small hours of Friday morning.
Tough job but someone has to do it.
