Patrice has clean sweep at Airlie Beach Race Week

The McConaghy Ker 46 Patrice has won the IRC division of this years Airlie Beach Race Week. With six consecutive first places Patrice secured overall victory and did not need to sail the last race.

For Tony Kirby and his crew it is a culmination of ten month effort in learning and refining the new boat and Tony could not be happier. “Ecstatic there is no other word to describe it” said Kirby when he was asked about his victory “it is beyond my wildest expectations to win six races in a row, it was a pretty windy regatta, the boat is great, everything worked brilliantly. The effort that we have put into the boat over the last ten months has really paid off, we have worked closely with McConaghy Boats doing a bit of tweaking and optimisation” continued Kirby “Messo and my crew have done a great job looking after the boat”

Since Patrice was launched late last year Tony has secured a podium position in every race he completed, but first place had eluded him until now. The competition at this regatta was intense, and the 46 footer held its own, mixing it up with the 50 and 60 footers.
