Percy Hilton in need of TLC after Cyclone Marcia

In the wake of category 5 Cyclone Marcia (and with another (Nathan) bearing down), Aileen and Don White have sent in some sad photos of the damage done to the famed Percy Hilton.

Aileen writes: “Just thought you may be interested to see some photos of the Percy Hilton, (Percy Island Yacht Club) and the Book Exchange Hut on Middle Percy Island, Capricorn Coast, Qld,  just days after Cat 5 Cyclone Marcia passed through the area.

“My husband Don was travelling south on our 32ft sailboat, Special Effects and, while ashore at Percy Island, was concerned to see the amount of sand that had been plastered over all the yachting memorabilia from the winds.

“Just a thought that cruisers heading north this season might be able to help tidy the place up a bit while anchored there. Not sure if, since he was there, someone may already have started the cleanup.

“Such good memories there over the years that are worth preserving.”

Thanks Aileen and Don, anybody else passing through there please feel free to send us photos of your clean up.
