Multihull Solutions had an exceptional sales result at the 2014 Sydney International Boat Show recording four unconditional catamaran sales and signing three conditional contracts.
At the show Multihull Solutions sold a TAG 50 catamaran as well as three Fountaine Pajot sailing catamarans including two Lipari 41s and a Saba 50.
The Saba 50 was sold to a Brisbane couple while the Lipari 41 was purchased by Victorian clients. Both couples intend to collect their new multihulls directly from the Fountaine Pajot factory in France later this year. The other two confirmed catamaran sales will be delivered to their new owners in Australia in 2015.
Three conditional contracts were also taken on a TAG 75 Custom, a Fountaine Pajot Hélia 44 and another Lipari 41.
Multihull Solutions managing director Mark Elkington said this year’s Sydney Boat Show orders were very rewarding and confirmed the growing popularity of well-designed catamarans.
“We had strong visitors to our stand, drawn by the fantastic weather and quality displays, and the new boat show ferry service was also very popular,” Mark said.
“The Privilege 615 that we had on display enjoyed very solid interest with two buyers visiting the Privilege shipyard in France later this month to discuss their layout options for delivery in 2015. We expect to see sales of this exciting catamaran in the near future,” he said.
“Buyer confidence is very strong at the moment, and catamarans are certainly becoming the choice for those who want to cruise with family and friends around Australia, Pacific or further afield.
Multihull Solutions has noted solid interest across the range from entry-level cruising catamarans through high-end custom and high-performance options where budget is less restrictive.
Ex-factory pickup options are also increasing in popularity as buyers are recognising the cost savings and the lifestyle opportunities this option affords.
“Collecting a new sailing catamaran or trimaran at the factory door and sailing it back to Australia is also proving more popular every year with another three orders taken in Sydney for this option,” Mark said.
“Power catamarans are also proving to take some market share from the traditional monohull powerboat market, and we are taking a new order every six weeks, which is a big change from a few years ago where the market was only two sales per year.”
Multihull Solutions is now looking forward to continue their success at the 2014 Auckland On Water Boat Show from 25-28 September and the Mandurah Boat Show from 10-12 October.
