Raymarine electronics chosen as standard equipment on Excess Catamarans

ARLINGTON, Va. (September 4, 2019) – FLIR Systems and Excess Catamarans have today announced a partnership between FLIR’s award-winning Raymarine brand and Groupe Beneteau's new catamaran brand, Excess.

In an extension of the partnership between the companies, Raymarine instruments will be fitted as standard on the Excess range.

The new Excess line of multihulls offers a blend of comfort and thoughtful design, giving sailors the chance to enjoy on-water activities before relaxing back at the dock or at anchor. Featuring five models, ranging from 11 meters to 15 meters, these  multihulls are aimed at people who thrive on the excitement of sailing. From trip planning to advanced sailing information displays, Raymarine now offers Excess owners a highly intuitive navigation experience designed to make their time of the water effortless and enjoyable, the media release claims.

“The Raymarine and Excess brands share several commonalities with their design, performance, and technology leadership in their respective areas of the marine industry,” said Gregoire Outters, Vice President and General Manager of the Maritime Division at FLIR. “With such clear synergy between the brands, we’re delighted to reinforce our commitment to sailing and continue our partnership with Excess.”

Raymarine will provide Excess customers with depth, speed, and wind data from the brands’s i70 sailing instrument displays. Excess will launch and show the EXCESS 12 and EXCESS 15 at the Cannes Yachting Festival, held from September 10-15, 2019.
